Through the expressive form, embodied in art, the spiritual interests in the world are
Immediately stimulated and satisfied and the imperfect expressiveness or responsiveness of material object is supplemented and heightened. Thus art always has a message because it arises out of culture.
Each artist, however, is a part of his or her own culture, and uses his own particular understanding or reality when producing a work. The attitude that separates art from culture is the kind of attitude that perpetuates the view of an artist as a superior, special, detached, inspired by muses etc. Because artists are the bearers of truth, the voices by which society is measured, they open the doors to cultures about which little is known.
It is hoped that the painting experiments are a validation of these statements.
