Unlike the earlier engagement with the human figure as central character, I have conceived my present series of works on the life of rickshaw; here the motif of rickshaw takes its place. It is the idea/concept/image/reality of rickshaw upon which I have worked. I have created large wood-cut prints, etchings, drawings, collected anecdotes and a self created 3 dimensional model of rickshaw in mixed media as an installation. It is like exploring the chosen medium of print making with the attitude of painter and to arrive at the point of equilibrium between them. I believe the hugeness of prints and the body of thick pigments is my attempts to capture elusive nature of realities. My aim, in these works is to derive icon like simplicity of our ever changing world and to have it imprinted on the viewers imagination.
